    Sling help.

Any idea on what to use to prevent metal hardware on my sling from scratching my rifle? I get that it is a tool and it will get wear and tear but trying to do my best to keep it from getting scratched up.

wrap the metal part of the sling in 100 mph tape or whatever they call it.

Black duct tape, or the tape of your choice is used to prevent noise, scratches are irrelevant.

I use the Vickers on my ARs and leather military type on the M1 & M1a with no issues.

I have used BFG VCAS for years, have them on most of my guns but recently installed a Ferro Concepts Slingster on one of my primary training guns and so far am liking it very much. The Slingster has a steel slider and while I'm not really concerned about scratches, but I like having my slings captured when unslung. The FCD Sling Keep and BFG Sling Sleeve gets it done and limits the steel slider from hitting the gun.
