    Armorer question

There was an AR armorer recommended by many of you a year or two ago and I had thought I’d bookmarked his website. Well, now I need work and cannot find this bookmark.

The one detail I recall about this fellow is that he is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel.

I very much appreciate the help.

John Thomas at Retro Arms Works. I sent him and upper within the last two weeks. He swapped the rail, ejection port cover, and muzzle device and gauged the gas port for me in the same day that my upper was delivered to him and had it on its way back to me the following morning.

You're an esteemed member here. That being said, why couldn't you do all of this yourself??

Busy at work, maybe? John did the NFA-compliance work on my M4, and from what I've seen in various retro-gun rags... well, short of crafting raw forgings himself if he can't do it with an AR it probably can't BE done period. Superlative communication every step of the way an turnaround WAY faster than expected, not to mention his patience with educating me through all my FNG questions.

I don’t know, don’t really have a reason for it honestly.

That's OK. I do all of this stuff for Pappabear all the time.
