    Weapon Genetics - Beware!

Do you have pics or any proof it was whole before the work was done? You could try to get a reputable collector or other authority on AKs to take a look then tell the gunsmith you’ll take him to small claims court if he doesn’t reimburse you. If he refuses then file and have him served. If he’s smart, he might settle with you out of court.

Assuming I’m understanding correctly everything about the situation…

So for starters, what work did you have done? What did they mess up specifically?

Why did you choose this gunsmith? What research did you do?

Assuming you have before and after pics?

MrHandsom, Definitely post pictures and details. I'm interested in seeing how the damages get to thousands of dollars. I know a decent amount about AK's, so perhaps I or others can help remedy the situation.

Unless this was a transferable AK, I fail to see how you’re “out thousands of dollars”. Also, making a blanket accusation like that without any documentation or description is sort of suspect.

Would be helpful to know make, model we are talking about.

So now the story is he installed the muzzle device poorly. Is it perm mounted? Because if it's just a brake, on most Kalashnikovs it would need to be removed for a dedicated suppressor. This is a common, common thing with AKs and only the Dead Air Werewolf is one that actually works well with Kalashnikovs.

What suppressor are you trying to run and what rifle are you trying to run it on?
