    Norinco, a keeper.
    Older Springfield Mil-Spec, a keeper.
    Older Springfield Loaded, a keeper.
Older Springfield Champion stainless, a keeper.
Rock Island, no complaints, a keeper.
    Colt, a keeper.

MIM, if it causes anxiety, can be replaced. Me, no ducks given.

Great list ........ I'd add a Glenfield or Marlin Model 60 and a Winchester Model 62 to it, but I'm overly fond of old .22 rifles.

Actually it was the Colt contract (Argentina I think) 1927s that were the best bang for the buck.

Bought an RIA FS Ultra for a truck gun a few years back. Still plan on carrying my LW Operator as a daily piece

    Low Priced 1911s

I own Colts - SA and an RIA.

I don’t shoot any of them very much but the RIA I picked up for a song is a great value pistol.

There is nothing wrong with my SA 1911 either, nothing even close to what you describe.

Maybe he did get a dud - I like all 3 of my SA's & both my Kimbers. I got a NiB Norinco back in May '92 that sucked much ass right out of the box (FTE/FTF's on the 2nd mag of hardball!) & have never understood the love for those turds...

My list of 1911 in budget from are SA, (I own several but not super cheap think TRP) and a Dan and Wesson 9mm that is very nice for price point years ago. Before that I care not. But I love the 1911 platform and the new 2011.

Mark has a bare bone 1911 that we shoot that has 20,000+ rounds that shoots good, God Bless America and the classic 1911

I wouldn't mind having one to at least play with, but most are 70 series and I want the extra, passive 80 series safety.

I also want a bobbed alloy frame model. Those aren't common. And I can't decide which caliber. I'm open to 9mm, .38 Super, .45 acp, and 10mm.

All low-mid price SAs have MIM parts - as noted they aren't mandatory replacement but it bugs me. Same with sharp corners, not a show stopper and not uncommon in a lot of pistols. My wavy slide is hard to see unless you look for it, but you can't un-see it Newer SA .45 ACP 1911s use a 38/9mm sized firing pin (non-standard is probably not accurate).

Admittedly I was griping a bit. My SA Garrison has been trouble free since I bought it, has an acceptable trigger, and shoots quite well when I do my part.

My Colt XSE LW Commander came with a very poorly cast ambi safety (replaced) and a polymer MSH (ditto). Both on a pistol that was not cheap. It has also been mostly trouble free, other than being a little mag sensitive at first.

Quite true, at least shoot if not own. Although the bolt rifle really should have a Mauser 98 action and be chambered in a cartridge introduced before WWII

All my guns are range/hunting only with the exception of some ARs, Glocks, and my LCP.
