Seller claims it's a 16" Socom barrel. It's not a Socom barrel, it's marked with the Colt logo and 1/8, heavy tapered profile. I did a little bit of searching on the internet and Colt apparently makes an AR called the "Competition" with a 1/8 barrel. Just wondering if the barrel is decent or not. Are they chrome lined? Are they outsourced? Who makes them? Are they GTG or POS?

I avoid GB like the plague. There’s too many scammers out there. That “SOCOM” barrel is anything but an actual SOCOM barrel, and the upper with rifle feed ramps and M4 barrel gets a no go.

Any more, if you aren't a TDP expert who knows all about forge marks and such, you are gonna get took. I've seen Colt 6920s that the only thing Colt still remaining is the barrel and receiver, everything else is z grade parts. And if somebody notices, they get the "everything is mil spec, makes no difference" song and dance.

Yup. With an incorrect receiver and passed off as an Original Colt upper with an asking price of $1000. When I can buy a brand new OEM for $800. Sometimes I gotta wonder what some people are smoking.

That looks like one of those piece of shit, fake-ass "CBC Colt Competition" barrels. Colt was not the manufacturer of the "competition" rifles

Interesting how you could buy one brand new for $40 less than what the seller on GB is asking. No wonder he's trying to pass it off as a socom barrel. What a racket.
