And the ignorance of the liberals argument.
And the ignorance of the liberals argument.
Excellent video. Watching that congressman continually argue that a Sig brace functions like a bump stock was cringe inducing.
Logic, reason...won't matter.
It's all about feelz and making sure everyone feels included, except for people who already feel normal.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.
Chuck, we miss ya man.

He ran the charging handle on the AR-15 at around 19 mins, how come the ejection port door didn't open?

The bolt was removed for filming safety?

I noticed that too, I just assumed it was a camera cut, but I didn't watch it a second time.
Edited to add: Watching it a second time now, there's no camera cut, but I'm guessing the BCG is in the rearward position and he just ran the charging handle back and forth but not with enough force to take the BCG off the bolt catch.

I'm all for clearing a gun everytime I pick it up, but that might have gotten in the way of the flow of the video, but then again, maybe some people need to see someone do it everytime.
I think that there could be a companion video where you break down a M4/IAR and show all the things that came from or were developed for civ/competition shooting.
Free floated barrels
Heavy (70gr+) 223cal bullets
Heavy barrels
Red-dot/LVOPs in place of iron sights
Rails/mounting points
Ambi Controls
Two-stage triggers
Even on the bolt action side, tube receivers and space guns predated the use of chassis and their eventual use by the MIL in the most well known sniper-rifles in the world, the AI series.
Military small arms have almost by necessity FOLLOWED civ small arm tech. Armies are risk averse and frugal. The are slow to develop and stick with standards because failure is feared more than lacking innovation.
Finally, what firearm used by US civilians ISN'T used by the military?
Biden favorite pump-shotgun? Show a marine guard using one.
Semi-auto handguns- I assume there are still some 1911s out there in use.
Bolt action rifles in 30cal or higher- SNIPER RIFLES.
I bet there are still a few revolvers around, and then there are the Israeli 10/22 rifles.
All of those are 'weapons of war'- so they should be banned too?
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.
It's that simple.

All of this is only about banning scary guns, it has nothing to do with logic, reason, actually preventing crime or any of that. Most liberals don't need an AR therefore NOBODY needs an AR. If they actually want to combat fascism, all most need to do is look in the mirror to find one.
