Finally broke down and ordered the AP5-P. Should be here next week. I’ll SBR it with stock like the above picture. Looks like it has decent LoP. Should be a fun gun

Gun came in and found time to run 200 through it yesterday across 7 mags. Had two that failed to feed the last round in the mag. Then 5 that didn’t eject including one that jammed nicely between bolt and gas tube. Other than that, it shot very well. Accurate and smooth.
One question, what is a good source for a reasonably priced MP5K compatible lower to swap to? I do not care for the molded shelf deal of the AP5’s lower.
HKparts.net has a couple of options.
FYI, It's not the 9 grain difference that matters. It's how hot the load is that matters. Typically, 124gr is the same or hotter than 115gr as the latter are typically designed to be less expensive options. Starting off with 9mm NATO or 9mm+P loads will help the break-in process.
I don't disagree, however, the 124 is typically a little hotter. The 124 grain magtech runs perfect through mine with about 350-400 rounds without a hiccup. The first 200 rounds with 115 grain gave me some stoppages.
I ran 124’s but they were my reloads. They were near the top of the charge weight range but probably still not at +P velocity. I need to look up NATO velocity and try to emulate that.
