    Looking for 1911 gunsmith

Just "found" my old Colt Liteweight Commander and need to find someone who knows what they are doing to go through it completely . It was given to me by my late wife way back in 1980 and is still one of my favorites . I found a list of gunsmiths here when I did a search , but hoping someone can give me some directions with someone you have used ....... hopefully in the SE USA .
The gun was worked over by a really good 1911 gunsmith in the mid `80`s , but he`s no longer around ..... so , looking for someone who knows their way around this particular 1911 .

I had a wonderful experience with MARS Armament in Utah back in 2015.

Nighthawk is in Arkansas and will work on customer-supplied 1911's.

Are you sure it needs to be worked on? If was gone over with a good smith before, time should not kill a bunch of internals. Maybe shoot it and see if it needs attention. Best of luck.

Nighthawk and Wilson are always good options but not cheap. But very good.

If it worked before then clean, lube, new springs and go 191”s aren’t fragile contrary to popular belief

Google Valor Precision and send it to Nick.

FWIW, I have three NHC 1911’s and I don’t think I’ve had a FTF with any of them.

Thanks for the replies .... the gun has been well used over the years , but not abused . Headed to the range later this week and will take it and run it for a while ..... don`t expect any problems as it was working fine when it was "lost" .
Yes , it does need cleaning and lube as its been sitting for more than a few years . I was just thinking it might need going over by someone who is a lot more familiar with 1911`s than me .

In your place I would just clean it, and lube it, and shoot it. There are dozens upon dozens of videos on YouTube on the subject. Plenty of time for a smith if you have any issues.
