Lee Sporting Trigger Housing for MP5

    https://leesporting.com/collections/all

We started talking about in in the Century AP5 thread, but I though it was worth a separate thread.

So it's a replacement for the trigger housing that uses standard AR triggers and safeties. It is much lower profile and looks like it makes the mag button much more easily reachable.

The ability to run a nice AR trigger and better manipulation of the safety seems pretty cool. Price not so much.

I'm still a bit unsure on the shelf versus non versions and which one if any would work with an an AP5P (SP5K-PDW).

One thing that I hadn't thought of is that using this would get you to the 6 parts needed for 922R compliance for converting to an SBR?

Anyone besides MilitaryMoron run one of these?

Depends how the AP5 is currently set up.

Is it a shelf "clip and pin" like the HK94 or is it a push pin like the POF-5? Remove your trigger group and take a picture. I "think" the AP5s are all front push pin, swing down set ups.

I don’t get how to post pics here. But I have an HK SP5 “full size’, that has only one pin at the stock and no pin at the mag well. The AP5P (the k’ish? Version) has three pins. Two at the stock and one at the front by the mag well.

That isn't gonna help at all. Just get a photo host like Imgur (it's free) and link pics here.

The MKE AP5 series uses a front pushpin with a small blocking shelf. You’ll need the trigger group with front pushpin.

The example in the photo is an MKE gun.

Is there any difference in compatibility for “K” variants like the MKE AP5-P? Or is the front pin design the simple answer for all front pin variants.

That is an extremely cool item. I hope they are able to sell enough to get that price down a bit.

You don't want to see the prices on some factory trigger groups. They go from $900 to 1500 easy.

$500 is about the going rate for a plain jane SEF / SF trigger group.

While I personally have zero interest in an AR style trigger group, I don't see them getting any cheaper. The only reason anyone made them at all is because of all the MKE / POF and factory SP5s being imported. When those stop coming in, the aftermarket accessories will simply stop being made.

You are kind of seeing that now with AKs even though certain variants like the M70 are still imported.
