I am NOT arguing that they are more durable than AK steel mags, and I don't care about that. The point is that all mags have advantages and disadvantages, and the 58 mags are excellent in the weapon they are designed for - providing solid BHO and ambi function if you use that type of release. They also FIT like the movement of a Swiss watch. I do have the clear ones and they are awesome EXCEPT that the plastic followers are hit or miss so I don't use them. (The bases are US parts).

Also, Dan Brown is a superb VZ 58 Smith.

(Note that the almighty awesome unimprovable el supremo Bulgarian Waffle mags crapped out on their first drop).
