Recommend a Piggyback RDS/MRDS Mount For my Nightforce Scope

    I'm setting up a DD M4A1 pinned 14.5 with a NF 2.5-10x24 MPVO in a NF A496 mount.

Nightforce sells the A425 cap ring which is picatinny but it is for the 6 screw caps. It can be used with the 4 screw but I'm not sure I like how high the RDS would sit.

The A496 Unimount is 0 MOA, 30MM, and 1.5" high.

I have not decided 100% on the MRDS or RDS route. I'm not a fan of open emitters, however the footprint is smaller.

    TIA

You're not going to get much in the way of lower profile with either a stand alone direct/pict mount on the tube. This is a big part of why Badger Ord. and Unity have stuff like this:
    https://www.unitytactical.com/produc...t-offset-base/
    https://www.badgerordnance.com/condi...00-13-13b.html

If you're wed to the NF mount, there are a hundred variations of either this:
    https://arisakadefense.com/offset-optic-mount-combo/
    or
    https://reptiliacorp.com/product/trijicon-rmr-rof-sar/
That are direct threat specific to an RDS to reduce profile.

Wound up getting a Badger COMM & J arm for a Creedo/T1 combo last fall. Still prefer it over everything I've played with since - EOTech w/ FTC 3X/5X mag, Acog w/ RMR etc.

I agree with Allen. If you haven't already bought the NF mount, I would go with a Badger C1 with J arm.

I like the RDS at 12' o'clock, have you checked out the Reptilia ROF-90 made for their AUS and G scope mounts or Spuhr mount and RDS combo?

I’ve used offset RDS in the past and found I do not like it. I prefer piggybacking the dot as it allows the use of transitions and passive NV.
