    12.5" blaster

Decided to finally build a 12.5. Went with some favorites on this build and giving the modern 12.5 middy a try. I played with them when warsport first released one but now the kinks seem to have worked out.

    Build list:

    Upper - MUR
Barrel - 12.5" Rosco Sage middy
    BCG - Solgw
    Charging Handle - Gunfighter mod3
    Gas Block - FCD
    Rail - FCD 11.5" mlok
    Muzzle Device - BCM mod0
    Sights - Mbus3

    Lower:

    Lower - Solgw soul snatcher
LPK - solgw guts w/ upgrades
    Bolt catch - FCD
    Mag button - FCD
    Trig guard - BCM
    Grip - B5
REK - BCM intermediate (buffer weight tbd, starting with 4.6oz)
    Trigger - Geissele SSP flat
    Brace - sba3

    Pics to come

Looking forward to the range report.
I grabbed that barrel lightly used from the EE, then also have an FCD 11.5 handguard and their slick upper receiver, so should end up very comparable. Just not sure when I’ll get mine together, so vicarious enjoyment is it for now.

I was looking real hard at the Rosco Sage 12.5 and the Hanson 12.3 barrels on Black Friday. Ended up deciding not to start a new build (I know what's wrong with me?). Will be interested to hear your thoughts on this set up. Currently have a 10.3 and 16", was thinking of building the 12.x to get a little more velocity.

I've been making 12.5" mid gas barrels since 2010, they are our second most popular length.

The Rosco Sage 12.5 is NOT a mid-length.

It has patrol length gas system which falls between a carbine and mid-length.

Good catch about the gas system length, how do you (or others) feel about it being 416R? Is that not supposed to last as long g as some other steels? Honestly I think it would take me a very long time to shoot out any barrel. Might not really be something I'd have to worry about.

It was specified by Aaron Cowan

416R is common in match grade barrels.

Wilson Combat uses 416 R in all their AR offerings.

Not as durable for full auto and when it does start to fail they open up considerably more the 4150 CMV.

    You're right. It is intermediate.

Taking it out Sunday with a couple diff buffers and several diff 223 and 556 loads.
