    Recipe Exchange thread

Wasn't sure if we had a place to exchange recipes, so thought I'd start one. Mods, please move or merge as appropriate.

This cheeseball was one of my recently-passed Aunt Linda's holiday traditions--she only fired it up twice a year, Thanksgiving to Christmas and again for Easter, and this first holiday season without it's one of the things I miss most.

    Sharp Cheddar Garlic Cheese Ball

    2x 8oz cream cheese, softened
    2 sticks butter or margarine
2 jars Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese Spread [Ed.: Kraft Old English specifically, IIRC]
1 tbsp granulated or minced garlic [Ed.: Adjust to taste. Linda usually liked it easy garlic while mom and their brother preferred heavier.]
    3 tbsp vinegar
    optional: chopped walnuts, grated cheese

Cream together softened butter and cream cheese until well mixed. Add in jars of cheese spread and mix well. Last add vinegar and garlic. (Linda note: I put the garlic in the vinegar while I blend the cheeses.)

Roll in ball or log. Then roll in chopped walnuts or granulated cheese. Batch can be divided into smaller servings. (Linda note: I usually make 1/2 recipe but the same amount of garlic and vinegar.)

Sounds good , have you ever substituted red beans for refried?
I tried to follow the science but it simply was not there. I then followed the money, thats where i found the science.

I haven't but maybe I'll give it a go and see what the family thinks
