    Steiner T6xi 1-6

I have the Steiner T6Xi 1-6x24mm KC-1. I finally got out to shoot this.

So far here are my thoughts:
    1. It is light for a 1-6 (Kahles K16i light)
    2. The glass is as clear, better then my Steiner P4Xi 1-4
    3. The controls knobs and turrets have a much better "click:" then the P4Xi (seems to be made better)
    4. The FFP recital is awesome
    5. I say it is almost as bright as my Vortex Gen 2 E Razor 1-6
    6. It is much brighter then my Kahles K16i
    7. The throw lever and flip up caps that come from the factory are great
    8. It comes with two different elevation Turrets
    9. The eye box is better then the Kahles K16i or the Steiner P4Xi ( I also think that the eye relief is more then they publish)

My overall first impressions are that it is now my favorite go to scope for my 12.5 AR.

I took mine out and ran it really good after I zeroed it. My thoughts after shooting it:

    1. Not as bright as the Vortex Gen 2 E 1-6, but very close. Absolutely daytime visible.
    2. The Eye box is very forgiving on 1X. I felt that it was also easier to get behind then the Vortex Gen 2 E 1-6 on 6X.
    3. The FFP recital is great.
    4. I like the ghost ring and dot on 1X. It is very fast to use.
    5. The recital on 6X is nice. I did not take it out past 100 Yards, but I can see how it will be user friendly.

The only down side is that it is made in a socialist place....... not China.... Colorado....

    Now the obligatory pictures...........

    Recital on 6X:

Feel free to ask any questions.

    No questions, but two comments:

I feel like the advertised eye relief on my P4xi and T5xi are also longer than advertised. Might just be a Steiner thing.

Holy shit, that looks like MLok. I thought you were pic rail for life.

I agree with that statement on the Steiner eye relief. My P4xi is better then advertised also.

Pic rail is the gold standard. Just trying it out. But you notice it is still a LT rail. Just swapped them out..... so it may bot me permanent

Doc, what are the specs on that 12" build? I can ID most of it... what barrel did you go with? Thinking of building a 12.x at some point.

Also is that a UU upper kit, or did you just buy the upper separately?

    Thanks!

All three of those are Noveske 12.5 barrels, two CHF and one SS in the LaRue Stealth 2.0.

The 2 CHF Noveskes have LT Rails, One is a Picatiny 11 Goosneck and the other is a 11 MLOK.

    Thank you, appreciate the info!

I was thrown off with the Stealth 2.0 thought that was a 16", guessing that's the 10.5" version? I have a 13" version with a 16" Stealth barrel I got as a UU Kit. Mine is one of the earlier Mlok versions, it doesn't have the 2 Mlok slots the top 45deg.

Thanks so much for the write up on the optic, I appreciate this as I feel like there seems to a lot of quality optics out there that just don't get the mentions because they aren't the trend at the moment. Also, is that a Peq-2? That funny because I bet it runs even brighter with illumination as those Dbals

It is an AN/PAQ-4C. And it is very bright under NODs.

How has this held up? Any bright sun reticle 1x pix?

    Other questions:

-How is the mechanicals? Zero retention, tracking fidelity, etc?
-Where is the glass sourced? I know it's made in CO, but is this US ground, LOW, German, or Asian?

I have been using mine for some time in the bright Texas Sun and have had no issues with the brightness.

Everything about it is crisp, Everything has a solid feel to it. I have not had any issues with Zero. I am very ruff on my rifles. I have about 3k of rounds with it now and everything is lasting as it should.

No idea on the glass. It is very clear, I would say clearer then my Vortex Gen II Razor.
