    Well stated.

Now that said, it makes no sense to ban gas ovens. This is just another attack on oil/gas. Here in CO they are thinking of banning natural gas utilities to new houses. You can’t have a gas stove if you don’t have a gas line. Now an electric stove is an alternative to a gas one, but when you get -10F here in the winter- I don’t see electric heaters keeping up- or the grid keeping up.
They can pry my propane conversion parts from my cold dead fingers.

Got a friend with a 410 marauder in an f100 running on propane, so fast you never smell the leaks.

This idea sounds like something Gretta Von Turdburglar would have come up with.

The result was the machines that used "less water" had to be run two to three times in a row to actually get everything clean so I used up more water an energy than my older "less efficient" machine. When I was in Florida, I actually bought the cheapest top loader I could find, hacked the locking lid and filled the damn thing with a hose.

That we are now using 1950s tech that our grandparents abandoned in the 60s is pretty much a commentary on the state of the nation. So sick of the greenies running my life.

Conversion parts for my Viking Range... I actually don't run my range or dryers (three of them for one of our businesses) on gas, they are all converted to propane.

You can still buy Speed Queens top loaders. Spendy, but worth it. Coupled with a Gas/Propane dryer and I can do an entire load (wash and dry) in right around 1hr15min.

Do the lids lock? How do they get around the gov mandated efficiency crap?

At my house I hang everything dry except socks and drawers.

I was washing blankets last night, and I went to pull them out, and they were completely soaked, like past saturation. So I look up at the knob for the setting to just run the spin cycle over. No such thing….”rinse and spin”, no don’t want that….aha..there it is…”drain and spin”. Nope. Thats an illusion. As soon as the lid locked, it poured another bucket of water on the blankets, then insufficiently drained them. Took 3 hrs to dry them in the dryer. Waste of both water AND electricity.

I might take it to the ranch and blow it up. I’m getting quite tired of every household appliance being garbage out of the box. I’ve had it for less than a year, and was deployed for part of that and TDY for half the remainder.

That is the most bizarre part. The ONE THING they can do, with a locking lid for safety is a turbo spin dry. If you could do just a "turbo spin dry" it would almost be worth all this BS.

Lots of times I do something like jeans and they are just a little wet still and in the olden days I would just give it an extra spin cycle.
