New Beretta Semi Auto Option (A300 Ultima Patrol)

I saw this getting teased over at Pistol Forum and TOS. Cat seems officially out of the bag.

    A300 Ultima Patrol

Euro has them listed as $999.

19.5" barrel, 7+1 tube from the factory, ghost sights, pic rail, M-LOK on the handguard.

Seems like it has a lot going for it.

I got to shoot the new A300 Patrol at a SYMTAC shotgun course. Logan Killam from Beretta was kind enough let me shoot it and give me a good run down of it. Here's a quick video of he and I talking about it:

How do these differ from the Beretta 1301 options?

The price differences in the 1301 and A300 are going to be the barrel and the action. The 1301 has a steelium barrel, which means our lengthened forcing cone, backboring, and a whole bunch more. It also has a different action type that's more forgiving, faster cycling, and makes for easier maintenance for folks who truly abuse their stuff. - Beretta project manager

My quick reading is basically the A300 uses a different, and slightly inferior, gas system vs the 1301. The A300 barrels are also made in Turkey- though still in the Beretta Group's own facilities. A300 does not use the rotating bolt assembly, either. The recoil spring of the A300 is in the stock versus the way the 1301 has it wrapped around the magazine tube.

Still, I've not heard anyone complain about the reliability of the A300. Seeing as I just grabbed a 1301 last week, I'm in no rush to do anything else.

I do hope they release this new handguard for the 1301 as well as do more with optics mounting.

Appreciate the info. I bought a 1301 Comp Pro with a 24" barrel last year thinking I might get into 3 Gun. Reality is I won't have the time and have been debating what to do with it. I was considering an 18" barrel to tailor it for home / camp defense. Or, sell it and get the A300 as it is pretty slick right out of the box.... Decisions, decisions.... LOL

I love my 1301 Tactical, but I might grab one of these just to have an affordable backup on hand.

They were sub $1k a few years ago.
