There is good size thread Matt Haught started over on Pistol-Forum. I was checking out his 1301 that had a A300 handguard on it at a Steve Fisher's low light shotgun class a few weekends ago, I thought it was an improvement. That class was the first time either one of us ran our 1301s in a training environment.

Just another selling point by the parent company. Just get a 1301, embrace the suck.

I played with one a week or so ago. Seemed awesome. I will say the checkering on the stock is obnoxious (painful).
Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault, while they sit safely at home, ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’I wish they were on this voyage; I well believe that another voyage of a different kind awaits them.”

The nice thing about aggressive checkering is it can be be toned down, the slippery shit... not so much.

I put hands on one and actually really liked it. I compared it to a 1301 and it was obvious that the 1301 was the better quality gun. I wronged my hands for hours on which to buy, but eventually ended up with the 1301 as my fear was that the A300 may not run as well as the 1301 does. Now that I have a the pistol gripped 1301, I almost wish I had bought the A300 as I now need to replace the stock and hand guard, which I wouldn’t have to do with the A300….

Are you going to run a rail mounted optic? I have the pistol grip 1301 and i actually like the adjustable cheek riser for more versatility with using different sized optics. Aridus makes good lower profile red dot mounts, but they can be hard to come by at times. I'm more used to a traditional shotgun stock, but i've grown to like the pistol grip stock.

As for the handguard, i did switch mine out with an Aridus Zhukov handguard which i like, but it would be awesome if the 1301s would come with the A300 handguard, to give some Mlok options.

I picked up an A300 patrol last week and haven’t shot it yet.
Anyone have suggestions for a discreet case for this?

Here's a good comparison of the two Beretta's, main take away is 1301 recoils a little less, is a little faster, will work better with low pressure ammo and costs about $500 more and needs upgrades out of the box. A 300 has a better loading port, works best with full power ammo and is pretty much duty ready out of the box. Remember that the A 300 has seen heavy use as a hunting shotgun since 1968.
