    Benelli customer service experiences?

Got a new Benelli M2 Tactical off layaway the other day. Took it home and started assembling it. Turns out the barrel will not fully engage into the receiver (stops about 1/4 inch away). Looking inside with a flashlight, either the barrel or the receiver seems to be out of spec. It's under warranty, so I filled out the online return authorization request.

Anybody know about how long it takes Benelli to process requests? Never dealt with them before.

Sorry I don't have an answer to your CS question, and sorry to hear about the weapon issues. But I gotta ask: did you get the one with the pistol grip and 7rd capacity? Speaking strictly for myself, I just couldn't justify dropping $1600+ altogether on a "combat" self defense shotgun so I went with a Kalashnikov KS-12 (which itself is going to be ~ $1100 out-the-door). I did, however, eye up that Benelli model you speak of and was wondering which options you got.

Pistol grip, extended mag, Ghost Ring sights. $1259.99 shipped. If the barrel is out of spec, seems like a simple replacement. If the receiver is bad, not sure if that can be fixed or not.

I don't think I've ever needed Benelli customer service. But I'd be surprised if you had any problems.

    Helluva deal!

I would wager that a company like Benelli would be pretty responsive.

Sure you are not just making an error when trying to put it together?

This happens all the time with my M4 and M1 when the front barrel ring gets caught up on the magazine tube or the bolt is in the wrong place.

    Good Luck!

I've got a Nova and a SuperNova and they assembled without any issues. Once you get the barrel ring lined up on the mag tube and the barrel centered in the receiver opening, it pretty much goes straight in with very little wiggle room. This one didn't for whatever reason, and no amount of trying made any difference.

At any rate, it's on the way back to Benelli in Maryland. Called CS this morning to see if they needed any additional information, and the rep E-Mailed me a Return Authorization on the spot and off to FedEx it went. The rep thought it was a bit unusual to see a 2021-dated weapon for sale in 2024.

Currently a 10 week turnaround time.
