    A new 77gr in town

    From SHOT SHOW:

    https://meadammo.com/
INTRODUCING MEAD 5.56 X45 77GR BTHP, MATCH QUALITY AMMUNITION FROM OUR FRIENDS AT MEAD INDUSTRIES!

INTRODUCTORY SALE PRICING FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY! THIS HARD-TO-FIND OPTION IN THE 5.56 LINE UP WILL GO FAST! GET YOURS TODAY!
    Specs:
    G7 BC: .243!!!!!!
    Sectional Density: .219
    Bullet Length: 1.056″
    .22 Creedmoor Velocity: 3277 FPS
5.56 NATO Velocity: 2859 FPS (from 26″ barrel)

Looks like they also designed it to have decent terminal effects:

Looks like its considerably cheaper than SMKs or Noslers at an MSRP of $29.99 for 100, $138 for 500, and $235 for 1,000 I might give it a shot. Prob try their loaded ammo first but it looks like on their site they only have 22 CREEDMOOR in stock.

Definitely interesting. I wonder if it'll be as friendly to load as SMKs.

    Nosler 77 grain CC G7 BC .193
    Lapua 77 grain Scenar G7 BC .203
    Sierra 77 grain SMK G7 BC .190
    Sierra 77 grain TMK G7 BC .210
    Berger 75 grain VLD G7 BC .217
    Berger 80 grain VLD G7 BC .228

    And then we have:

    MEAD 5.56 X45 77GR BTHP G7 BC .243 ??

Nope, sorry not buying that BC #. Fib about one thing, sort of tarnishes all things. I'm going to wait this one out, and let someone else be the beta tester.

My ONLY interest in a "new" 77 would be price. I've never had a B.C. issue with Nozzie/Sierra in that bullet's realistic operating distances. A buddy gave me a handful of some "high B.C." 77s from some company. I never even loaded them. I don't care about them if they're in the $0.30 price range. Not paying more money for marginal improvement.

Maybe I'm missing it but I didn't see the 77 grn/22 bullets on their own. The 55grns are fair @ $70 bucks per 1K. Although I do see the Ammo loaded with 77grn, but who buys ammo nowadays, LOL

I didn't see them either, but at $0.29 I wouldn't buy anyway. 55gr doesn't fill any role for me right now. Too hard on steel if you load it hot. POI is too different from 69 and 77. The price is great though.

I have looked at these for a week markm and almost bought some. I'm a long way from needing any 22 bullets but @ around .25 cents each I thought that they were fairly priced and maybe better than most 69er's but then maybe not, LOL I've always had great luck with bullets from these guys,

Powder Valley has the same bullets for $211.19 plus Tax & shipping for 500. I can get 600 (Blems) for around 150ish shipped!

Another low cost option might be these:

I haven't tried them yet, but their 69 gr bullets have shown potential,

We've been shooting the 75 gr RMRs, and have not yet had them sing as well as the 69s. Not that they can't shoot good, but the 69s just are the easy button of bullets.
