Can a factory Mossberg "firearm" be turned into a "shotgun"? I'm thinking yes.
Has a 5 shot mag tube.
It appears there is no longer barrel one can buy for it.
Not sure if it's a 590 or 590A1. Does that matter?

I don't think I'll buy another pump shotgun. Semi or double perhaps.
This one already has an extended safety and streamlight forend installed. The forend is not very fun swap out.
I'll keep it if I can do an easy barrel change.
Otherwise I find a double to be just as fun and useful as long as barrels aren't too long and stock on the short side.
Selling guns is a pain.

I would think if nothing else you can swap the mag tube and then use a 500 barrel. Cheaper and easier to find than a 590 barrel and mag tube.
Mossberg 500 barrel and mag tube can swap onto a 590 and vice-versa.

The Maverick 88 and Mossberg 500 and 590 will all interchange magazine tubes (I've swapped among all three). Some are more stubborn to remove than others and require some heat to break down the thread lock, while others are no more than hand tight. You just have to use the corresponding barrel to match the mag tube.

Yep...as long as the tubes/barrels correspond, the mag tubes will fit any of the receivers.
