    What can would you buy?

I own many cans and I know there is no perfect answer and its give and take. But I have a KAC lower that I recently form1'd and just purchased a 11.5 KAC upper. I would like a KAC NT4 can but where you find one is another story.

Anyway, if you were grabbing a can, what can would you buy for this 11.5. I don't want a shorty, I want a full sized 556 can. Dont need a 30 cal for versatility.

    Do tell mis amigos.

YHM Turbo T3. Light weight, HUB compatible, performs very well, and economical. Without the YHM mount they're $460 on Capitol Armory.

Surefire socom. It’s the Toyota Camry of cans.

Although don't have a recommendation for a can as I understand it "HUB compatible" is essential to future proofing mount wise. Interesting to note that not all manufacturers mention this (HUB Compatible) but instead the thread of the mounts (1 3/8-24 or 1.375x24 = HUB) which means any HUB threaded mount (Tri, AAC, most Manufacturers proprietary brake mounts, etc.) can be used with that can.

That is correct. The HUB thread pattern is very common in the industry and is also known as the Bravo thread pitch or 1.375x24 as you noted. It opens up a world of possibilities with mounts as well as future proofs the can.

For example- my Sierra 5 with a Rearden Atlas adapter and FCD 1215RF weighs 3.75oz less and is 1.1" shorter overall than a Keymo adapter and FCD 6315KM. Saving ~4oz and 1" is significant, and that's just from the mount. It's nice having the options to change my can to suit my needs as well as effectively future proof it should a manufacturer go out of business (like what happened with AAC and guys needing 51T mounts).

I am a big fan of the socoms, but YHM really has good value - it seems so far.

Good materials, mount options, and moderately priced.

Lots of great choice but I tend to agree with the SF SOCOM. It's not the quietest but it is probably the "best of" the important features.

Waiting to try their new "flow through" technology version, some say it's better others say it's not as good. I would find out before spending the money.

Any chance you have experience with the T3 and the Turbo K as a comparison? I’m just about to pull the trigger on the K because it seems like everyone says that you really don’t hear much difference between the two.

I already have the Vox S, which is about exactly the weight & length of the T3, so that’s another reason I’m leaning K model. (I’m sure the T3 is better at suppressing 556 than the 30cal Vox, but I pay more attention to the length and weight than dB level when it comes to suppressing 556 anyway).

This would live full time on my go to 12.5” and give me a little lighter and shorter package than what the Vox currently does. It could pull split duty on my 11.5” too but I think the Vox may go there instead.

Hard to hear the difference between the two. There is a suppression difference, but I think it's fair to say that's it isn't significant. The K is also a little less gassy as well as being shorter and lighter.

I have a K mounted on a ln 11.5 direct thread with a JMac x37 mount to protect the blast baffle. For the money, it's hard to beat the performance and overall characteristics.
