Colt 7.62x39 AR15 available again CR6762

I have a Windham 7.62x39 AR15, so I decided to measure it. It's marked 1/9 and it measured about 1/9.5. Just to verify that I wasn't doing something wrong, I decided to measure my 308Win chambered Colt 901SE. It's marked 1/12 and it measured 1/12. So, I'm pretty confident that at least my Colt CR6762 has a mismarked twist rate. Here are pictures of the twist. From top to bottom is the Colt CR6762, Windham 7.62x39 and Colt 901SE.

This is a good thing. 1/12 would make a 7.6 2X 39 pretty useless. It is also hard to know what the weight of the carbine actually is. Manufactures misquote weights all the time.

At what distance? I'm not sure the 1-12 twist is unsatisfactory.

The 7.62x39 is roughly a 300 yard round for the best accuracy. Some of the factory FAL barrels were 1-12 barrels, while others were 1-11 or 1-11.5 twist(s). True enough I would prefer a 1-10 twist (I think the older YHM barrel I have is 1-10) but IMHO I wont be trying to kill deer or hogs beyond 300 yards regardless. I'll limit the 7.62x39 to the same basic limitations as the US 30-30.

I should say that 1:10 would surely be heavily preferred. That was elliptical. Faster twists seem to be mo better in more calibers, and AK x39s are 1:9.45", so 1:12 seems a bit too slow.

Does anyone know the WEIGHT of the Colt CR 6762.
