    Large ESAPI plate recommendations

Looking for recommendations of quality manufactured ESAPI large plates. Need to buy a couple pairs for some personal rigs. Looking to stick with ESAPI cut as they fit the current carriers I own so I don't have to buy all new carriers as well.

    TIA

I'll just note that SAPI/ESAPI cut plates are very common; ESAPI plates specifically are pretty rare, as this typically refers specifically to the military issued plate, so any ESAPI plates you buy are more likely than not to be stolen. There are some commercial outfits that will try to obfuscate by calling their plates ESAPI, or actually do sell the actual ESAPI specced plate, but either way, this is a much smaller subset of plates than SAPI/ESAPI cut plates.

What plate to recommend depends entirely on your budget, type of threat defeat you're looking for, and what role you plan to use for the armor. I personally would recommend the Hesco U210, but that's quite pricey, and does not defeat any kind of .308 Win; if you needed AP defeat, and are much less concerned with mobility, while still having deep, deep pockets, I could recommend the Hesco 4800, or possibly the 4800LV. Etc. Without context, it's like asking for recommendations on which AR to get, without mentioning budget or use case.

Budget is not so much of a concern, will save up as necessary. ESAPI cut is fine, not trying to deal with CID at all lol. As long as they're cut the same and will fit in the carriers properly then that'll be fine. I'm looking for leve 4 if possible, AP stoppage capabiloty is preferred

In that case, the Hesco 4800 or LTC 26300. Multihit Level IV, relatively thin and lightweight compared to other Level IV plates.
