Anyone ever have a bullet just pop out?

Saw flake powder in the floor of the safe, then found a bullet, then found a mag with a Federal aluminum primed case on top. That's how far I could shove it in by hand in the last pic.

Not sure when it happened, just noticed it tonight. Mag has been on the floor of the safe so no drops to mimic a kinetic puller.

Didn't see any others that had popped loose.

I saw the flakes and initially thought it was a shaving or 2 off of plastic till I looked closer and figured out what I was seeing. Rhen saw the loose bullet, but no case, and then finally saw the mag with the primed and empty case.

Mag has been in since last summer maybe?

Haven't measured the case or bullet, but I flipped the bullet around backwards after not bring able to shove it in with thumb pressure and the 3rd pic shows where it stopped.

Im going to just say it was probably environmental shifts that caused the case to expand and the boolet just fell out and when you got to it the case returned to something.

Did you try to refill the case with the spilled powder to see how far it filled the case? I've seen similar situations where I blamed inadequate neck tension and compressed powder, but I've only seen the bullet move a small amount but not exit the case completely.

I dryfire with live ammo in the mags.

The aluminum rounds got loose after a lot of slamming mags in, ussually just the top round. I put 1 or two snap caps on top now.
