    BCG okay to run?

I know the simple answer given that BCG's are readily available and affordable would be just to purchase a new one......but I have this phosphate BCG that has been drilled and tapped for a side charger handle. Since the hole is well forward of the internal run for the gas rings, does anyone see a problem with running this is a standard AR? It works, but any potential issues foreseen?

Should be gtg. Assuming it was originally for a rear charger, it should have the machined recess to trip open the dust cover.

I'd run it on a range toy/blaster only. Probably fine, but not worth it on a serious use gun.
