Wow. That's better than my results. I only tried TAC, and didn't give load work up a good try. I may have to give it another shot.

Im working up a Tac / Nosler with canalure round now. What Tac weights are you guys at and what velocity from a 16" barrel? Im at 24.5 and only about 2600.

    Thanks!

I’m getting about 2,575 - 2,600 in 16” inch barrels at 24.0 grains. Accuracy is decent - I’m not Molon I can run it in a variety of different rifles and winter/summer temps without pressure signs. When I went to the 24.5 neighborhood I got slight some ejector swipes sometimes.

If I've tried TAC/77 CCs it's been too long to remember. I haven't been running TAC recently except for the 85gr Match Burner. My problem is I have almost all Wolf SRM primers, and I don't trust them with ball powder. I had Hang Fires with H335. I kinda went away from ball powder for the most part. (sorry... rambling on)

^^^thank you gentlemen^^^for the info. I appreciate it. For some reason I thought 2750-2800 was possible from Tac with this bullet from a 16" barrel. But I'm now thinking I'm mistaken. Does MK 262 get that fast in a 16? Take care.

If I get them over 2750 out of a 20 bolt gun with no gas bleed off from a gas port, I'm happy. I'd say anyone claiming that out of a 16" is full of it.

Great info and it's always educational to see your methods and the care you put into this testing, thank you.

A few things I noticed in the pics. A new Man's Best Friend, congratulations.

And that bench / range construction is most interesting. If I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing, that is an amazingly clever alternative to range baffles. "You cant get the muzzle that high in the first place".

I have not seen anyone get much past 2700 77gr from a 16". Mk262 is around 2650 from everything ive seen.

You may be able to get 2700 from the right barrel.

For reference, at 2800 with 69 gr im getting occassional swipes. The load blows primers in another rifle.

Honestly, if I had great accuracy at 2600fps, id call it good with 77s.

Mk262 was to be used in a SPR with 18" barrels, expecting the same performance out of a 16" is a stretch. My CC 77 TAC load is 24.2, went higher but best balance of accuracy/pressure seemed to be around 24-24.2.

Johnny did a whole series working up a clone load, in the video BHI velocity testing starts at 7:50 with 18".
