    Greek Atomic Stalingrad rifle/Sturmongrel G3

    Hey guys,

Sorry for the click-bait title. I have been enjoying my Greek SAR-8. It started life as a Bush/Clinton Era abortion. It was converted at some point prior to my ownership. But I have put a bunch of doo-dads on her that have improved her handiness.

    1. Spuhr optics rail. Pretty good, but can be a bear to mount.
    2. Obviously I have a 3x Steiner prism scope. Very nice, reasonably low-cost.
    3. Spuhr forend rail. Nice piece, but honestly I wish it was just a regular mlock setup so I could easily mont other stuff.
4.Timney Trigger. Very nice! Gives the gun a very nice trigger that you don't have to fight like the factory setup.
    5. Magpul grip module and safety. The module is meh. The safety is AMAZING. Definitely worth the upgrade from the ww2 ergos of the G3.
    6. Vtac light mount and old Surefire flashlight. Outdated but still useful.

I am probably going to order another Spuhr Stock to help with Chinweld.

The gun shoots a nice, steady 2 moa with 149grain FMJ surplus. Amazing gun.

Here it is in an earlier setup. The FH was ghetto threaded on (original barrel was cut down and had no threading with cheesy Clinton era faux device). One day I was shooting the gun and the FH disappeared into the aether. My gunsmith nicely threaded it for a Ar-10 FH which I have now.

I stupidly sold my Spuhr Stock to a buddy who put a very nice variable scope on his G3. Now I need to fork out moolah for another.

I guess some day I should buy a G3 variant or Hk 91. Too many projects going right now.

Very nice rifle. I remember when Springfield literally was trying to give them away. I was too young to buy anything at the time lol

I’ve had several through the years. They were like the Turk mp5s, an amazing bargain

Should have left the trigger stock, it's designed for military drop test specs. But yeah, those Greek EBO SAR 3/8 are seriously high grade, best possible price when it comes to a HK 91 platform. The other one, imported in fewer numbers were the Portuguese G3SA series.

I still have it. That timney trigger travels from this to my Turkish Ap5 when I feel like shooting easy groups. It never get near my sp5 or hk91

I'm just saying be careful. Back in the days people were dropping Williams trigger groups in their 91s and the desire to have a HK trigger break similar to a AR15 continues to this day. However if you drop a loaded rifle with a modified trigger, there is a strong probability it will discharge. That is they the HK trigger is the way it is.

And for me personally, I just always learned the trigger. If you put in the time it will shoot about the same as those with modded triggers.
