It's a shame actual Cuban exiles / refugees didn't go to actual college campuses and discuss socialism with people.
Not sure what the attraction of things like The Onion and BB are, never really got it.

Seen something similar in real life. Had a philosophy professor who emigrated to Canada in the 60's, but moved back to the US in the late 70's who was into all things socialist including medicine.
One of the guys in the class had lived in England for awhile and commented on how bad his experience with medical stuff had been which triggered a rant about how wrong he was lol

Buddy’s girlfriend escaped on a raft after a failed attempt. When she hit land she was arrested and this was the first time she had ever ridden in a car. Her dad has several cows, if he were to slaughter one and eat it, they would throw him under the jail. Beef is not allowed for the common folk. No electricity and they live in a cinderblock house. They are allowed 4-6 eggs a month. She works very hard and does a job most would refuse to perform. No complaints and very happy to be here rather than there.
