A new bill proposed in the U.S. will allow the government to track users online and allow so-called “disinformation experts” to rule on what are called “behavioral codes.” The Digital Platform Commission Act of 2023 would establish a new federal agency that could “organize hearings, investigations, assess fines and establish rules through engagement in public rule-making.” The agency could designate some platforms as being more important than others and subject those to extra oversight and regulation.

Can you imagine if this was suggested by the Bush or Trump administration? Heck, Barack is STILL saying that news networks that do not fall in line with the government's message are a threat to democracy. And people still think he is the second coming of Christ.

Most Americans have cell phones on the 24-7, and a whole bunch of those same phones are listening and reporting constantly for monetary purposes. Advances in AI will allow much more invasive detection by governments. They monitor cell traffic and messaging now, but for a limited number of key words/phrases.

How long before a 6'5" Shaniqua (formerly known as Gary, preferred pronouns they, them) knocks on your door in a purple miniskirt, garish makeup and leading a SWAT team to arrest you for sedition based on a conversation you had with your wife the night before or for turning your phone off for 5 minutes? It's not science fiction or fantasy any more, it's the near future if we don't force a peaceful change.
