Ruger Mark W/Suppressor Attached

I rented a Ruger Mark W/Suppressor at a local range today. It had a micro bushnell red dot, with a sight picture tat had no co-witness. It only came with one mag. Only one mag is gay. Especially when you have a 325 rnd brick to burn in an hour.

I used a human size target, and decided to shoot at 20 yards because the back and forth machine was a bit too intense. I didn't want to hear it bang against the wall. I forgot to save the target afterwards. I wish I didn't toss out the target, but I didn't miss the paper once. I even tried to shoot out a smiley have a nice day face in the top left corner. My spread was around probably 6'' over all, but I still I shoot a golf ball size hole in the center X, and then shoot another a golf ball size hole in the head. The good accuracy of the pistol was the only upside. Functionality wise the gun had a rate of 50% failure to fire, and 10% failure to extract. I looked inside the action, and the chamber was fully lined with hardened carbon. That kind of neglect is totally alien to myself, but I kind of didn't care, and took advantage of training with a malfunctions. My fingers were red from the repeated tap, rack, and bangs. I think I had 5 FTFs in a row at one point. I'll excuse all that bullshit I dealt with due to lack of maintenance from the range staff. They asked how was it after I brought it back. I let them know. I probably left about 150 complete one piece cartridges on the ground along with all my other brass. I shoot the entire 325 rnd brick in about 55 mins, (-) shooting a few rounds from my EDC.

I currently own a Ruger 10/22 integrally suppressed. An integrally suppressed .22 handgun is definitely next on my list. And maybe even a testing waters application for the CIA.

I have a 22/45 with a Warlock II on it and a red dot.

It is a hell of a lot of fun, cheap-ish to shoot, 100% reliable, groups phenomenally, and you need to buy one right now!

The rifle I can understand wanting it to remain 16” and one stamp. But why be married to a likely marginal or difficult to clean silencer on a pistol?

Agreed...Better off with a separate silencer. It's a much more flexible solution with little downside.

And yeah, a suppressed 22 pistol is super fun. Would recommend. 10/10

Agreed.

I went with a MKIV 22/45, Dead Air Mask (Waiting on transfer to finalize), Lobos Mount, UMT 1 Degree spacer, Vortex Venom, Volquartsen competition kit, and slide release.

I love that gun.

I can’t wait for the Mask to be approved. November to now. Should be a few more months.

I’d highly recommend a rimfire suppressor and combo you can take apart and clean easily. Suppressed guns get dirty much faster it’s just the nature of things.

It's not. The suppressor is it's own entity and I can install the original Ruger upper barrel assembly any time I want.

The OP asked about an integral pistol silencer. That can only be used on one specific model of pistol.

It will use an inferior mono core, or be more difficult to disassemble and clean than a thread on silencer.

None of that is a problem for me.



Not only can I switch back and forth between the suppressed upper and the factory target upper, the performance is hardly marginal and cleaning is easy. I also get better suppression than any add on suppressor setup I've seen.

If you’re happy with the performance then that’s great. I have the same upper and I promise you modern thread-on cans Like the Dead Air Mask, Rugged Oculus, EA NYX, and many others, vastly exceed the performance of that integral. FRP alone is way less than on a monocore and I find cleaning easier on individual baffles (subjective). I still think integrals are interesting sleepers and fun, but not on the basis of sound performance.
