Don't iron sights have the least forgiving eyebox there is, unless you mean forward-backward head position?

I do mean fore/aft--the Eon has to be almost right up against my eyeglass lens.

    Yuck. Good thing it's a .22LR I guess.

Could just be I don't know a damn thing about "properly" setting up a scope other than "more 'picture' is good, more blacked-out mess is bad" too, or yet another of my optical-health issues. Admittedly you can count the number of days in my shooting life I've fired rifles on your hands with fingers to spare, in contrast to downright intense pistol training in college...

Well, my gunsmith tuned the sights a little and he and his wife (he runs the backshop, she the front sales floor and general management) pronounced the build "officially ready for Q Branch field testing." Would be interesting, just for the pure hell of it, to see what Yoni would say about this thing...

Just found this thread and have a suggestion… I just sold an American defense manufacturing qd scope mount that I had listed on the equipment exchange. It’s what I was using on a 10/22 breakdown before changing it up a bit and deciding I no longer needed the qd requirement. Not the cheapest solution out there but certainly the best (imo). Held zero perfectly every time and definitely meets the 007 feel you are looking for. Bonus points for the qd bipod mount…
