well they are there starting at 1200 , with higher BIN , i see them starting lower bidding up to 1200 , i think people are still trying to wrap their heads around them in that price range

i want another for a winter project , i was thinking another bayo folder , i had a Mak 90 for many years for a shooter and a few years ago did the conversion , the lumber was already seasoned for 15-20 years , last night i was thinking maybe a double folder , then started kicking myself for selling a Norinco orange bake grip i held onto for years , it brought $300 on GB , but would have been perfect for this , here is the mak with a Poly Tech Bayo folder , i call them the sisters

never did a slant cut stamped receiver , but did a slant cut milled on a Mak 91 National Match , it was challenging but i did it back when Kengs was selling complete sets of Legend furniture for $150 so i had a safty net , did not end up needing it , its pictured here with a Poly Tech National Match

Those Type 56 clones look nice! I know in reality (like Vietnam) that they were probably that color, but I am kinda fond of the blonde furniture like the imports used to have "back in the day".

At $1,200 the entire AK pattern rifle loses it's appeal because you can buy a quality AR for that. So unless a person is an AK collector, nobody is gonna be interested.

    thank you

the bayo folder furniture was that blonde color new ,one is a actual Poly Tech , ive had those rifles since the mid 90's ,but did the Mak conversion only a couple years ago , they were never colored , stained or sealed that is the natural aging of the chu wood

the national match rifles is the correct wine color and are also original Poly Tech finish , they were tinted and sealed at production

thats just it , iwas always an AK guy , it wasnt until maybe 6 years ago i finally started getting into AR's , i actually owned a couple SP1 rifles back in the day and only kept them for a minute , regrettably for sure , but as a AK guy they didnt do anything for me ad the price of .223 back then was almost double what x39 was , even though i changed focus to AR primarily , i still have that AK itch that needs scratching , so it does sting a bit shelling out 1200 for a Mak when i remember buying "junk rifle Norinco and Poly Tech" for $350 -$450 (junk rifles are what people use to call Chicom AK's)

ARs are great , but are money pits too , the difference is you pay a decent chunk for a base rifle then dump money playing Barbi dress up after that , luckily im out of that phase

I remember grabbing polytechs with that black dumbhole stock for $150 twenty years ago. At one time I had 32 AK pattern rifles, at $250-350 they were like crack...I coudln't stop buying them. Then during the Great Obama Gun Sale they were going for more than $2,000 so I grabbed all less desirable ones and flipped them on GB and now I'm down to about a dozen.

So I bought several Polytechs (I think Tennessee Guns), that had the black plastic / sorta Dragunov stock but were still square receivers. They were only $150 and it took them forever to finally sell out. They were fun to deban and at the time polytech furniture and parts were widely available.

I kept my GSAD Type 56, all my Arsenals, my Egyptian Maadi, my Polys and a Draco I SBR'd. Also have a few Bulgarians built on Nodaks.

Yeah I bought my first AK, a Norinco stamped (but not a spiker), back in 1987 not long before I got out of the Army. It was $300. I recall there was a Hungarian right next to it for $400 but I cheaped out being a poor GI. Unfortunately that Norinco is long gone.....sold it to a gun shop in the very early 90's for party $$$ while in college. Might have even been '89.
