I know it's been said before, but it probably bears repeating. They have the tech to take small craft dozens to hundreds or thousands of light years, but lack the tech to avoid crashing into a planet? Not impossible, but seems like at least a bit of stretch. Ironically, that's still by far the most likely part of this whole story. The other things that would have had to have lined up for this to be true... Well... That's a whole other can of worms.

1: He's part of the government disinfo machine
2: He's correct and it's legit
3: He's crazy/attention seeking

With "conspiracy theories" that turn out to be true, the truth usually reveals itself in a reasonable amount of time. Even when actively suppressed with governments and big money corporations (i.e COVID). This theory has been ongoing for effing ever and it's always the same thing. "The smoking gun!" "Big reveal!" Every single time...nada. Just more speculation and more testifying "experts" with no actual hard evidence to prove anything. At what point do you go with the probable explanation?

For a large portion (most?) of people, that line has been crossed UFO's are a legit phenomena. The dam of holding back the evidence and ruining the career of anyone willing to talk about it, appears to be ending. But, will full disclosure happen next year or 30? It feels like sooner than later to me, but gubment has an amazing talent for dragging out chit everyone knows exists, like Area 51, etc.
