Intresting developments for Bud Lite.

WalMart is now begining to cut A/B and Bud Lite specific shelf space in order to give more room for their competition. At least that's what I saw on YouTube.

Now at first I was skeptical, but upon my own observations, they may be right.
My local WalMart has taken 50% of Bud shelf space away. Where once was a double cooler full of bud is a half a cooler of bud and a half a cooler of Quarts of various beers, not all A/B products, Coors and Miller are owning the rest of those coolers now.

Now when this began I was not a Bud Light Beer fan. I had no skin in the game except for a generally creepy feeling looking at their spokesperson.
But I must say, I am impressed with what happened.
Market Pressures and all.

But here's the funny thing the economy is in the crapper, WalMart is closing stores; so when Bud Light farts, WalMart has to burp.
See how that works?
WalMart is more sensitive to market pressures now. When Bud Light goes woke, before they go broke; folks with skin in the game start backing away from them like they have leporacy.
They lost their shelf space.
The genius in all of this it was so predictable, the magic was that everybody kind of went along with it, the sad part will be that we will forget about it by July 4th.

That was my thought... at first. Quite frankly you might call us the Bud Light Long Range Rifle Team. I thought the boycott was just another joke. But it seems as though the shelf space issue is no damned joke, and I've finally joined the boycott.

And old guy called me out when I was walking out of the store a few weeks ago. I said Eff it! I can drink Miller Lite. We're not drinking in June anyway, but when I do grab beer, it's not going to be Crud Lite for a long time.

Once upon a time, that's how it worked. It didn't matter if the owner believed this or that, that was his right and he was entitled to his opinion. Started out innocently enough with "Buy American", which led to "Buy Union" which gave people the realization that if they can actually tell people what to buy, they can probably tell them what to think and believe.

And in the 80s when Walmart was mostly "proudly made in the USA" if the price difference wasn't dramatic, I'd buy the American product which was usually better made. For tools I always bought Craftsman because "Made in the US and Lifetime Warranty", both of which are no longer true. But at least I have decent tools.

But when Bill Ruger and S&W tried to tell us how to think or what firearms they felt were suitable for "ordinary Americans", we left that shit on the shelf and it took a long, long time for both of those brands to repair the damage.

It's always funny to see what "events" get deep traction.

With guns, almost NOBODY is aware of the "sporter clause", but once they found out they were buying Wayne's wardrobe, they even bailed on the NRA.

And now it's Bud lites / ABs turn, so if we can burn the NRA, then AB can burn in hell. Walmart knows their markups are razor thin, so shit that isn't moving gets moved out.
