    "Arnold" The Documentary 💪

I have met Arnold a number of times (1) and we have some mutual friends. He was always genuine and normal guy with me. Whether you followed Arnold as a bodybuilder, action star, etc, this is a must watch. Yes, it's a bit white washed version, but it's also very well done, compelling, and you learn a lot about the man you didn't know, much of it insights into what drove him. Now as a mature man looking back, you really get the sense he has both pride and regrets now that his journey is where it is. A -

Made a film about a private citizen using firearms to rescue his kidnapped girl.

Bans ownership of same class of firearms during his term of governor in the same state.

    F him.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

Meh. In another example of taking chit out of context to produce faux outrage to feed the masses. Here's what he actually said:

"There is a virus here. It kills people, and the only way we prevent it is get vaccinated, get masks, do social distancing, washing your hands all the time and not just to think about, 'Well, my freedom is being kind of disturbed here.' No, screw your freedom."

    He added:

"Yeah, you have the freedom to wear no mask, but you know something: You're a schmuck for not wearing a mask because you're supposed to protect your fellow members around you," he added. "It's just that simple."

He used some unfortunate language to make his point: while individual Freedoms and Liberties are the essential values and ideals that make 'Murica great and unique among all nations on this planet, that's not a wholesale license to forget the fact we also have some responsibility to those around us, some of whom may not survive a case of covid, and a balance must exist as to how to make it work for everyone as best we can. (1) I would never support or agree to mandating it via law (2) we will not vaccinate our way out of this.

Thus, Arnold needs to choose how words more wisely, but he's Arnold, F U rich, and obviously getting frustrated with all the BS. In that respect, I "get it"

Yes, he did turn out to be a bit of a hypocrite there, and is not a perfect human being. He is however the personification of the true American story, came here with nadda, and by hard work and single minded drive, worked his way to the top of everything he did. In that respect, it's a great story and this documentary really does a great job showing that. Arnold had a tough upbringing but he used it to drive his passions vs do the victim mode thing so popular among people today in the US. I think they should show that in high schools.

You'd probably feel different if you had to live in CA.

He came here as an immigrant and significantly curtailed the rights of every person in CA. IIRC, part of the reason you left your home state was the ridiculous firearm laws. That Arnold achieved his success through hard work means he should have understood "you don't take from the common man, especially in a position of leadership", yet he did it anyway.

And hard work does not cancel out eliminating the rights of an entire state of Americans.

Arnold has explained before exactly how he feels about personal freedoms. He’s a Nazi sympathizer.

Was a huge Arnold fan until his actions as governor and then with covid showed his true colors. F him. But I don’t begrudge you being interested in his biography. I continue to try to avoid those who hate me and those like me as much as humanly possible. Same reason I avoid anything with Liam Neeson, makes a career out of pretending to be a hero with a gun and then can’t spew fast enough to try to infringe on the rest of us serfs and our silly Constitutional rights.
"Why "zombies"? Because calling it 'training to stop a rioting, starving, panicking, desperate mob after a complete governmental financial collapse apocalypse' is just too wordy." or in light of current events: training to stop a rioting, looting, molotov cocktail throwing, skinny jeans wearing, uneducated bunch of lemmings duped by, or working directly for, a marxist organization attempting to tear down America while hiding behind a race-based name

I loved some of his movies growing up (especially Conan and The Terminator) but once he became the Governator and pulled his bullshit I moved firmly in the F' that guy camp. He is just another Hollywood scumbag, he should be thankful for his success in his adopted country that took his ingrate ass in rather than shitting on it. Yeah, **** him.

If ever a guy should have stayed in his lane. It was Arnold. I still like his movies, but if we talk about the person, he's a huge POS.
