Speer 62 grain Gold Dot Component Bullet

For those waiting for these to come available again, the first in near 2 years:

Direct from Speer, plus Midway and Graf's all have them in stock.

    Get'em while their hot.....

I wish they had that 75gr.

The pic of the 75s shows a small boat tail. My hope/guess is that it might fly similar to the 77s we often shoot within the 100 yard range. I'd like to go to bonded for home D and defense eventually.

The 62's also have a small boat tail.

I think I have a handful of 62 pull downs that someone here gave me. I've just never had the chance to work with them yet.

Thanks for the info & I almost grabbed some from Midway and then Grafs,,,"but" then I remembered I have about 600+ of the 64 Grain Bonded from Shooters Pro Shop from forever ago and just have not loaded them yet. They still list them now but they're around $36 bucks plus shipping. Here is a link to the Nosler's https://www.shootersproshop.com/shop...bullet_type=65

I have some left of those 64 gr Nosler Bonded as well, about 200 or so. They do penetrate & shoot well but unfortunately have the aerodynamics of a cinderblock, with a .231 G1 BC vs Speer's 62 grain GD with a .310 G1 BC.

Be warned, Speer .224 Gold Dot bullets list inflated BCs by all accounts.

I could live with that if they fly close enough within 100 to maybe 200 yards. For defense ammo, I'm not sweating a 500 yard bullet flight.
