Braceless AR Pistol

No brace, not even a buffer tube. No sights either, was Clark aiming by clairvoyance or just pray-and-spray? LOL

Special forces dudes don't need sights.

The AR pistol really caught on with the advent of the pistol brace.

They still have a lot of validity even without the brace for a compact package though if you learn how to run them.

There doesn't seem to be much interest in them though...

Why is that?

Because a bunch of folks are cheap asses, don't want to pony up 200 for a stamp, muh rights, "don't want the man to know I have it"
I get it, I would rather walk in, pay for an item, pay 200 at the point of sale (better yet-nothing) and walk out. But until that happens, pay the stamp, do it right verses a walk around and enjoy the shorty.
Truth hurts, yes, nobody wants the pistol now.

Many people aren't will to "relearn" shouldering a weapon with a broomstick vs a buttstock. Me, for example. No reason why I should go that route and of course the contact area is miniscule compared to a butt. My choice and my personal preference as it always will be.

Pistol vs rifle concerns are valid. $200 is shit, you should have just left that point out. Registration, pistol vs rifle laws in different states, these are valid concerns.

Years ago I had both a draco pistol and a keltec plr16, both long sold now. No buffer tubes, just fun toys. I got fairly decent with both by pushing the weapon out against the sling.

I'm not pro anything in regards to the whole class III system. You forgot the part that mentions, "would rather walk in and pay the fee or nothing at all and simply buy it"-you let your dislike of the system get in the way of the point I made. I still stand on the fact that people are cheap asses and it is a simple fact-if it wasn't for the braces, a whole bunch of folks would not have purchased the things to begin with.

All perfectly reasonable reasons to get a pistol vs SBR.

IMO, pistols with braces sold well not because they were $200 cheaper (tax stamp) than an SBR, but rather because of no paperwork hassle or long wait. That's always been the main obstacle for purchasing NFA, not the $200.

Braces were the easy button. No permission, no bureaucratic process, no wait, no engraving, no class 3 BS if you want to sell, no permission to travel, etc.

Hell, I'd pay $200 for a brace just to be able to skip all that BS.

But here we are...

Back to the intent of the OP, a 10.5/11.5 braceless pistol is still quite capable. But for some reason there's not much interest.
