ATF E-file email received...what does it mean?

    First-time NFA item buyer here.

Form 4 for an Omega 9K.

"This is to advise you that the status of your eForms submission with the subject Permit/Control number has changed to APPROVED"

The form paperwork .pdf doesn't say "approved". But I'm quoting from the email above.

So...this means my application is accepted? I though that already happened.

    What now?

Does the PDF have a digital image of the tax stamp? Does it have the examiner signature on it?

    Doesn't say "Examiner" but yes.

I just noticed at the very bottom there is very clear wording that the transfer is approved.

Yay! The government has "approved" me. How benevolent of them.

Alright. So now a physical stamp is mailed to my FFL holding the can? Then they'll call me to come get it.

    Right?

No. There will never be a physical stamp. Your dealer got the same email you did so they know it was approved. Go pick up your can.

Save copies of that PDF as that is your tax stamp.
Print out a few copies to store in safe places as well as copies of the pdf.

    Got it!

Test fit on my 3 trilug guns.

There is the smallest amount of perceptible play on the AP5P.

However there is more play on the AP5 that makes me not want to fire it until I know how much is acceptable.

For ease, you can shrink down approved forms (index card is what I use), laminate them and put them on a binder ring after hole punching the corners. Make a set for each gun bag and when a new one comes in print small, laminate hole punch and add to the ring. Way better than a manila folder with ragged paperwork all over long gun bag and since there in every bag they can't be forgotten.
