    M1 Carbine officianados.....

I got a reproduction M1A1 "Paratrooper" stock for one of my relics. I'd like to epoxy or otherwise attach a thin rubber "rim" around the left side of the buttplate so it doesn't ding the wood when it's folded. Ideally something that is already made (even if it's for something not gun related) for a slip-over cover that I can cut to length to be "anchored" into place by an epoxy-type method. Ideas?

Isn't the wood stock it rests against also part of the reproduction stock?
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

Yes it is, to my knowledge.

Given it's a repro, why are you concerned with protecting the wood? Give it an authentic looking ding over time.
