Not that I really care, but my gear is getting ‘dated’. Meh, progress.

Window size shouldn’t matter if you have both eyes open and the gun is aimed (target-site-eye in line) correctly, right? I mean I guess it does have an effect, since it has to be bigger than the dot by some factor.

Red dots are becoming almost ubiquitous. At what point do the gun and sight people work together to get the optimal set up and build it in? No plates, no doubling up on metal/material between the slide and the sight. You could probably drop the sight ‘line’ a 2-3mm.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

Never. Every company thinks their system is the gold standard, or in Glock's case they don't care. I'm pretty sure they know their system is terrible.

When P-1 came out, everyone laughed but every optic company secretly started making their own mailbox.

Now it only proves how much ahead the Swedes are since they're on their 3rd design (remember the Nano?) when everyone else is still at their first version.

I don't think people laughed at the design, it was more the battery life...and it was horrible. Being first to put out an overpriced turd is not necessarily bragging rights.

Window size absolutely matters, because the larger the window, the larger the FOV, the more leeway/misalignment you can have and still be able to utilize the aiming dot (taking advantage of the relatively parallax-free nature of most RDSes). There's a reason why the gamers love the giant windows, it's because it allows them to shoot faster because they can be mechanically a little sloppier and/or gets them the dot in their line of sight faster.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

The mounting option is get the standard slide custom milled and tapped for the optic. It worked perfect on my MK25. The only drawback is the cost.

Looking at the higher cost of mos type slides and how sloppy their fit is, the cost of having proper milling done is minimal when looking at the big picture.

Yes the mos type slides give you a quick way to get into shooting the gun and saves the owner a few pennies but the slop compared to milling to me is worth the minor wait and extra FEW dollars it costs.

People not having patience is why garbage like the mos type guns are so popular.

Most shops will allow you to ship the slide to be there when its your turn in line so you aren't without it for very long. The shop I use is local so I ask when my turn is, then go there and they cut it while I wait. Not everyone is that fortunate, but again most shops will tell you "we are X days out" so as long as you pay them they will mark your spot in line then as long as your slide is there in X days you are Ok.

I actually had langdon tactical do their MOS cut on my old 19 slide so I can try out some optics I didn't have the footprints for. There are some fantastic quality MOS plates out now that really make it a viable option. Glock plates be damned.

Finally got to play with the new RMR HD, I don't know why people arent mentioning this and talking about window size instead, I guess everyone is just insecure about their window size. But the electronics package in this thing is insane. The front facing light sensor and auto brightness feature not only works but is highly responsive as in it instantly bumps the brightness the moment I flip on the high lumen/lux weaponlight to a usable level, completely different from the top mounted light sensors like Holosun which were pretty dog sh1t at detecting horizontal light coming from the target. The reticle switching is nice but we've seen that before in the Holosuns, supposedly there are features that let you gate the auto brightness settings to fall within a certain min to max range but seems like a massive pita when you need to play telegraph with the 2 buttons.

A auto-brightness light sensor that actually works is pretty game changing especially with its near instant response time, I guess time will tell how well it holds up. Not sure if the enclosed emitter RMR has the same features but the light sensor alone puts this above any other pistol optic. Now I know where the money went and its not just bigger glass but feel free to keep comparing glass sizes.
