Ya know, there's really not a ton of 411 I've been able to run across that gives any sort of detail regarding the scope of the fire / fires...if you search hawaii on twatter you see the various vids, but nothing on where they may have started or how vast the destruction trails cover. Many of the vids are from overnight hours, but I think the boogers have been burning for what 2-3 days now?? Some say hundreds are missing.

This is the only bit I found on the buildings destroyed in Lahaina, but nothing on the rest of the island.

The climate zealots are not letting the crisis go to waste & Fox had an article where the experts say it got out of hand due to the same practices in Cali. Dead Undergrowth from grasses / trees are not maintained.

It kinda reeks of arson imo & why I'm curious to how many flared up in various areas within the same time period.

Of course I have no knowledge of it but I would be surprised if Russia is NOT sending agents to do this kind of thing as payback.

My parents are in Hawaii. They were supposed to be in Maui but they are in Honolulu for a week instead. It’s crazy.

I would bet that most that are "missing" are just hanging out and staying with relatives/friends in a safe area on other parts of the island. The damage is crazy though.

My cousin on my dad's side and a bunch of relatives on my mom's side live on Maui. Not in Lahaina though.

I don’t know. A bet a lot of people just assumed that there wouldn’t be an ‘urban’ wildfire. The number seems high, but a lot of old people would probably shelter in place.

Looks like a Vietnam War movie set…
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

Death numbers will likley break 90, perhaps 100. Locals say there was no notice, evac warnings, etc. Fog O war or someone seriously dropped the ball?

I read some statistic that 85% of ‘wildfires’ are started by people.

I have family in Lahaina, they are pretty sure their whole neighborhood, including their home, is gone.

Some wound up having to ditch their vehicle and run. Very sad, I can’t imagine having all your possessions reduced to what you have on yourself, and what you can pack in the little time they had.

    My heart weeps for Lahaina.
