Gas block set screw spacing questions

For low profile gas blocks, many gas blocks have different spacing in the set screws, for example SLR offers gas blocks with spacing from .400 all the way up to .500. Do the different sizes affect anything in particular? I know gas block over all length can be a factor depending on how the journal on the barrel is, but outside that do these numbers come in to play anywhere else? Sorry if this seems like a stupid questions but outside of the standard mil spec TDP stuff I'm still learning.

Just simple across from the gas port and use a knurled screw in the second spot. No need for two dimples.

One set screw hole is always across from the gas port, the other (if even present) location is governed by the length of the journal length and personal preference.
