"What would a $2,000 Geissele Super Duty do that a $500 PSA door buster on Black Friday couldn't do?" - Stopsign32v
Not Gibson's fault. It's the "Faded 50" which uses the old thinner finish. It's half way marketed to those guys who want a finish that will wear in nicely. I generally scratch my tops with my fingernails no matter what the finish and run the volume knob neurotically because I run some gain. So all of my high use guitars have top finish wear.

Again.. it's not a Gibson issue, it's specifically outlined in the description that the finish is retro and thinner than the modern era finishes. And it's the matte finish is just getting rubbed smooth where my hands hit it... not like the finish is worn through to the top. I have other guitars that have modern finishes and look worse from my hand rubbing the finish. Not a bash on Gibson... it's just that I do like keeping a new instrument looking new as long as possible.
