    Who can you contact if...?

You get the Bums rush at the VA?
I show up 15 minutes early to wait 45 minutes to see a Nurse Practitioner who No Shows me and pushes me off on someone she's "Training".
I had both of them walk past me two times as I waited, no "Sorry We're Late" or "We will be awhile."
I got pushed off to the Nurse Pratitioner in Training and said, "No I want to see my Doctor" and it all went down hill from there.
She didn't want to see the Blood Pressure records I have kept for two months, She just wanted me out of there.

Just goes to show you the "Thanks for your Service" is simply lip service from BS artists. I got nothing to offer as thank goodness I don't have to deal with that horse shit.

    Hopefully it is nothing serious.

I don't think there is anybody you can contact that has the ability to fix the VA.
Best bet is just shop around for a better doc.
Good luck because they're hard to find. Welcome to the medical industrial complex.

Good luck there. My father (decorated, retired VN veteran Marine) was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Everyone we talked to at the VA gave me and my sister the run around and their website was no help. I called his Congressman (a Repube and a veteran) for help and got ghosted. I called the local VFW and a vet sitting at the bar told me to call the local Amvets and gave me a name and number. The Amvets have a clinic every Thursday with professional advocates to get things done. They got my Dad enrolled with the VA and his disability approved.

I figured it might not help but I like to remind them of who they're supposed to be working for.
I would not have thought about the VFW, glad you were able to get help for your dad.

Never practiced at a VA hospital (except in NYC as a student) or VA outpatient clinic; but find it absolutely disgusting and appalling that veterans get such poor care in the VA system. The ones affiliated with University systems, i.e Bronx VA part of Mt Sinai, NY VA part of NYU, Miami VA part of U of Miami system have a 'reasonable' reputation of providing fairly good care, can't say anything else about the other national VA hospitals.
