Actually a good film, but I paid almost no attention to what was being mined.

So far only theoretical particles. The first two problems with "light speed" is building a craft that would survive it and then figuring out how to fuel such a craft.

It's important to note warp speed and light speed are not the same. Warp drive is literally warping the space around you and would be faster than light speed. It's purely theoretical but not impossible in that it does not break laws of known physics:

Definitely the one on the gun forum! Definitely

If the discovery of negative energy would rewrite the laws of known physics it seems to me a rather arbitrary distinction.

    This is all fascinating

I tried to follow the science but it simply was not there. I then followed the money, thats where i found the science.

My physics is not strong enough to say one way or another. Deeper than surface details, above my pay grade. I'm passing along that according to the physicists debating that one, warp is not impossible in terms of breaking the known laws of physics, which is very different than physically probable... She's viewed a well respected physicist vs say amateur type with a YT channel:

It's been worked out on paper.

    Look up Alcubierre Drive.

The hang up is mainly that it requires an obscene amount of energy, far more than we can currently produce.

Unless there has been a further refinement it requires negative energy which does not exist even theoretically. At this point it is just a math trick, albeit a clever one.

Possible (does not break/ignore the known laws of physics) and probable, are two very different things in physics. But as humans, we will always try. Scientists as the time said no plane would ever fly and we'd never go to the moon. Me, I'm just waiting for them to admit to the reverse engineered alien tech.
