Waiting for my optic to put on my 686 Plus 3 inch.

Any revolver-specific tips regarding a RDS?

Pretty similar to RDS on a pistol just sits higher so presenting to target might take more adjustment and practice.

On the plus side an RDS on a revolver doesn’t reciprocate, so re-acquiring your sight picture might be faster.

I really enjoy this 686+. It soaks up recoil.

187 gr lead bullets at 925 fps are enjoyable and recover more quickly than 180 gr Freedom Munitions .40 (925 fps) from my Beretta 96A1. And far easier / quick than 155 gr .40 @1160 fps.

Height over bore is just something to get used to, like you said. And learning the offset.

I wasn't sure I'd like the DA trigger but it smoothed up quickly. A little heavier than I'd like but I get hits with it so it doesn't seem to matter.

180 gr WFNGC at 1100 have proven to be heavy hitters on Hogs.
I’d probably not use a RD on a 5” 27-2, but there’s no doubt in my mind they would work really well on game in Timber/low light.
A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.

I have been debating a similar thing. I have an old 4" Model 28 that is a pussycat with wadcutters. Apex Tactical makes a rear sight replacement plate that would let me put an ACRO on it.
