I know you know this, but to be fair- there are hundreds of thousands of PEQs and DBALs in use on 14.5" M4s with fixed FSBs. Stuff like the LEAF and MI sights let someone push the laser as far forward as possible on a rail without an FSB and not have interference from a front sight, but honestly, a PEQ-15 and FSB are PB&J.

DBAL with an FSB is kind of ass, given it can't be tucked against the FSB and allow for battery swaps without removing it. I only briefly used a DBAL-A2 and looking at photos, I had it a few slots back from the FSB to remedy that. Splashback isn't an issue if guys don't run their illuminator wide open, which they shouldn't be anyway.

Yes, I am very aware, I was simply pointing out that on a 12.5 certain people might not want a fixed FSP when you can utilize the aftermarket to configure as needed.

Where is the FSB? It's not as though it would be in the way of an optic.

Exactly my thought. Seems wrong somehow to have a carry handle upper and rail mounted front sight.

I still love my Colt 6520 Lightweight.

My favorite AR is my 6520. Only mods I made was the installation of a Colt FA BCG & M4 handguards (I kept it all Colt). That little carbine (w/20 rd. mag) rides behind my seat in my truck. It’s as handy as my Winchester 94 Trapper.
