I doubt he goes that route personally. Normally I'd say it's a bad move, but in his case, may be his only move at this point. He will pull mostly Dems, but I bet he'd pull more Independents and a few GOP (if Trump is their choice) than people might expect. Enough to win? No. Enough to make people wake up and realize there's more than just two parties in the US? Maybe, which may finally give someone not of the the two power sharing parties a legit shot at it in the future.

The hard part is that if our side abandons elections, then the left could legitimately win fair elections and claim a mandate, even though based on non-participation and past fraud.
Also, my gut is that election results are accurate in some places but not in others, and I don't know exactly which are which. Especially not in advance.
I think our side needs to keep voting, while recognizing that voting alone isn't likely to fix anything. But giving up on voting seems worse than keeping parallel options open.
