I’ve been in the process of weaning myself off of coffee, drinking a cup of mud/wtr when I wake up and then I’ll have just one cup of coffee later in the day if I start to fade, much better than the pot of coffee a day I was drinking. I also add a scoop of Laird Superfood’s performance mushrooms to the mud/wtr.

Alcohol wise, I’ll have a single drink maybe once or twice a week although I do go weeks at a time without a drink.

When I do coffee, it's espresso so a little time consuming.

    Coke is my caffeine fix.

I have a breville in my office. I have either an espresso or redeye every morning. Its great, and keeps me from energy drink which I was doing daily before.

We used to have Coffee brewing every morning in the field.
I think if you wanted to take us out, you could have just followed the smell of Coffee in to our AA.
You had to cut that stuff with GI Milk otherwise it would knock your dick stiff for 12 hours.

As I type this, I’m sipping coffee with bourbon in it. Delightful on this beautiful fall day.

I have a breville and enjoy espresso, however I prefer my French press and how much control I have with it to get the flavor profile exactly to my liking.

I also roast and age my own beans to have greater control over end flavor.

I start with a mixture of Ethiopian and Kona beans. I roast myself, I roast 1/2 of the beans lightly and then the other half medium. I take a few handfuls and roast them heavy and hot for a short period of time.

I store them in an American white oak barrel that I charred myself and do the equivalent of a #6 char (200-225 minutes) to add some tannin and woody/vanilla acidic flavor to my beans.

I do a 3 part grind to expose different areas of the bean to express different flavors, 1/3 coarse, 1/3 medium and 1/3 fine grind. Then I do a 10 minute cold extraction at 38 degree F, followed by a 5-7 minute hot extraction at 173.5 degree F.

So, yeah, I like coffee. I enjoy it very much and won’t give it up except for a short period here and there.

I also make the bourbon myself at a distillery I have a stake in. I make a specific bourbon just for my coffee.

Without getting into too much detail, the grain bill is 25% corn, 50% 2-row, 5% rye, 10% white wheat and 10% millet.

I age it between 2-4 years in char #3 French oak barrels and then another 2 years in olorosso sherry casks with toasted tops.

I’m glad I’m not forced to choose between either, however if the choice was necessary, I’d stick with coffee.

We interrupt this programme to bring you an important news bulletin: the suspect in the Happy Times All-Girl Glee Club slaying has fled the scene and has managed to elude the police. He is armed and dangerous, and has been spotted in the West Side area, armed with a meat cleaver in one hand and his genitals in the other...

Coffee. Period. I'm a total snob now. My wife has converted me.

I hardly touched the coffee when I was younger, but as I grow older I like it more every day. The opposite with alcohol. Now that I'm pushing 60, it's almost like I'm developing an intolerance to alcohol. Just one glass of wine or one beer will make me sleep like crap and I will feel terrible the entire next day. It's not even worth it anymore. I might have one drink a month now.

Plug for Will Brink's Alphajoe Coffee here. It's literally the only thing I put in my coffee. If I can't use that, I just drink the stuff black. I love going overseas and drinking their coffee. It's the real stuff. Trust me guys, try some of the Alphajoe stuff. It's worth it. The flavor and health benefits are awesome.
