Sig is the Ducati of pistols. I think its a safe bet that they are familiar with USPSA and IDPA rules. Possible that they are cozy with the guys that write them.

Officially, SIG does not say it is a compensator, but rather a slide-integrated expansion chamber. That may be how this pistol may get around some of the rules in some classes.
